Who needs roles and permissions?
Any practice where more than one person logs in: an analyst with a support assistant, a firm with several analysts, or a team with sales, support and compliance staff. Each person should see and change only what their job needs.
Why access control matters for regulated firms
Regulated firms need to show who did what and when, especially for recommendations, client records and settings. Shared logins make that impossible. Named users with defined roles, combined with an audit log, give you a clear answer when an auditor asks.
How roles work in Finuro
Presets
Viewer gives read-only access, editor allows changes, creator adds creating new items, and manager covers the widest access. Use them as they are or as a starting point.
The permission matrix
Custom roles are built from a matrix of pages and options across Finuro, including advisory, customers, monetisation, courses, bookings, content, integrations and audit logs. Tick what each role may see and do.
Inviting and importing users
Invite people by email; they accept or decline. To add many people at once, use the bulk importer and choose whether invitations are sent. Finuro shows when your plan's user limit has been reached.
The audit log
Create, update and delete actions are logged for recommendations, subscriptions, coupons, courses, bookings, exclusive content, risk profiles and questions, content groups, vendors, payout beneficiaries, settings and users. Filter by entity, action and ID to find a change.
Example roles
| Team member | Typical access |
|---|---|
| Research analyst | Advisory: publish and manage recommendations and portfolios |
| Support executive | Customers and communication, no advisory changes |
| Accounts | Monetisation and transactions, read-only elsewhere |
| Compliance officer | Audit logs and reports, read-only |
Common use cases
An analyst with one assistant
Give the assistant customer and communication access so they can handle client questions without publishing recommendations.
A growing research firm
Create roles for analysts, support and accounts, and import new hires in bulk with invitation emails.
An audit question
Filter the audit log by entity and action to show who changed a recommendation or a subscription, and when.
Getting started
- List the jobs in your team, such as analyst, support, accounts and compliance.
- Start from the viewer, editor, creator or manager preset closest to each job.
- Adjust the permission matrix so each role sees only the modules it needs.
- Invite each person by email, or import several users at once.
- Review the audit log regularly, and update roles when responsibilities change.
Removing a person's access is a single change, so offboarding no longer means changing a shared password.
